Rachel Ganz, LCSW

The only way out is through. The only way through is together.

If you’re here, I imagine you may have found yourself exhausted, stuck, and struggling despite your best efforts to cope with painful situations and feelings.

You may still be skeptical that therapy will help you, or are unsure that you even “need” therapy, but continue bumping up against the knowledge that something needs to change and you haven’t been able to figure out how. Or maybe you’ve intended to seek therapy for some time now and have faced many barriers—overwhelm from balancing the daily demands of life, feelings of hopelessness and anxiety, or difficulties finding an available therapist who seems like a good fit.

I commend you for taking this first step forward. As an individual therapist for teens and adults, I strive to provide a truly non-judgmental space grounded in curiosity and empathy where you can build your understanding of yourself, the values that nourish your soul, and develop concrete strategies to dismantle the constraints holding you back from living a life that sustains you.

Whether you are looking for therapy that is brief and targeted to address a specific problem, or as an intentional space for long-term growth and self-exploration, I welcome any who are interested in exploring their experience.

My Approach

I believe our society emphasizes material wealth, status, and productivity as measures of success that are inherently counterproductive in our search of fulfillment and happiness. We are often unconsciously conditioned by our environment to think and respond to painful feelings in ways that make things worse. I believe lasting change can only occur when we learn how to ground our goals in the values that nourish our true selves, and create the path to those goals by behaving in ways that move us towards what we find sustains us, rather than away from what we find to be causing us pain. My practice is grounded in a relational, client-centered approach: on building an authentic connection that allows you to reflect and explore yourself and your experiences with honesty and compassion. I flexibly incorporate evidence-based principles and skills that resonate with you from a variety of treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectic behavioral therapy, to collaborate in helping you create meaningful and lasting change.

Individual Therapy

I offer 50 minute individual therapy sessions via telehealth (video sessions using a HIPAA protected platform) or in-person at my office or nature-based locations in San Francisco.

My fee is $185 per session, and I currently accept clients Monday — Friday, mornings through afternoon.

I am considered an out-of-network provider, and can support you in navigating potential reimbursement through your insurance.
